An Ancient Castle

A collection of resources to help those who would like to learn more about Celtic languages used in this community. A language lives when it is used. Also, please don’t let Language Puritans discourage you from learning.

Focloir.ie – English – Irish dictionary with a broader scope of words. Even the so called vulgar ones.

Teanglann.ie Gaeilge-Béarla – Irish – English Dictionary with pronunciation by dialect.

Abair.ie – Learn how to pronounce any sentence you type in. Supports the three main dialects.

Ultach.org – Ulster Irish videos, lessons and audio for beginners.

Gaeilge i mo chroí – Youtube Channel by the wonderful Molly Nic Céile. Not only does she have a ton of great instructional videos available for free but she also has an instagram account with regular posts on the topic of learning the Irish language. If you become a Patreon of hers you can also get in on Zoom meetings twice per week to practice in person with other Gaeilgeoirí.

Learn Irish with Dane – Youtube Channel

Craic Le Gaeilge Discord

Celtic Languages Discord Server

Ling Language Learning App – The Irish course has more pronunciation help than the DuoLingo app offers.

Also, check this video by Molly with more recommendations for resources.
