Flags of Scotland and Texas

This event has been going on since 1986, or as some might say, since Hector was a pup. I have been attending since at least the 1990’s myself when the event was held at Maverick’s stadium in Arlington, Texas near U.T.A. Now days it is held up in Decatur, Texas which is a bit of a drive for me now, coming up from Venus, Texas on the other end of the Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, etc. metromess of traffic and whatnot. But, for the Scotch Eggs and Haggis, plus to visit with and hear my favorite band from Tennessee, Tuatha Dea, play I will make the journey.

Earlier this year I wrote about attending the North Texas Irish Fesitval with the family which is another of my annual visits to all things Celtic in the North Central Texas area. This is another of my delightful opportunities to delve into my heritage and mingle. It’s good to connect with my distant but never forgotten lands of my ancestors. The event is held on the Wise County Fairgrounds on the first weekend of May. It is sponsored and supported by:

Tell Your Mama And Them

For those who enjoy the great music of Tuatha Dea as I do, I checked the schedule and they are slated to play the last show of the night on Friday and Saturday night as well as a 1PM show on Sunday. But, all scheduled times are subject to change according to the needs of the festival staff and unforeseen circumstances. So, check in when you get there. You are going to be there right? Oh come on! Don’t let a little distance stand between you and a good time. There are flights coming into the DFW airport every day from all over. I know, I see them.
